When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey⠀
•⠀
This week we are focusing on the wonderful Sarah Gailey and two of their books. I love Gailey’s work and I’ve read tons of it by now. I wish I had more physical copies of their other books, but the two I have use magic in really unique and interesting ways. ⠀
⠀
When We Were Magic is about friendship, at the end of the day, which was written in a way that I feel like YA usually misses with female friends. They weren’t toxic with one another, and that’s a lesson we can all learn from.⠀

This was a really fun, queer sci fi book. I loved most of the characters and crew, and the witty sarcasm that seemed to be all over the page.⠀
•⠀
Unrelated but: I’m going to be moving soon! I’ve been living at home with my parents for the last five years due to a lot of personal reasons, but now I get to go live with my best friend and her partner. I’m very excited (and a little nervous!) about this new adventure.⠀

Y’all got any moving tips? ⠀

This two books have nothing to do with one another This two books have nothing to do with one another, but because I read them at the same time, my brain just inherently connects them. Regardless, the contrast of the two books- one washed out and the other bright, was really neat to see together. ⠀
⠀
Do you have any books your connect together in your head, despite there not being any real connections? ⠀

💫 Lore by Alexandra Bracken ⠀
•⠀
I know I posted a photo of my arc of this before, but this @barnesandnoble edition is just wonderful and I wanted to share. It has special notes in the back which genuinely surprised me!⠀
•⠀
This book is definitely for people who loved Percy Jackson but are adults now and want more violent versions. ⠀
•⠀
I loved the story and our main character a ton. Apparently the audiobook is also really solid!⠀
